Chiropractic Care on the Rise | Davie Chiropractor

A growing number of Americans are embracing the benefits of chiropractic, according to new Gallup report commissioned by Palmer College of Chiropractic.

The “Gallup-Palmer College of Chiropractic Inaugural Report: Americans’ Perceptions of Chiropractic” reports that 33.6 million U.S. adults (14 percent) seek chiropractic care each year.

Key findings:

  1. Thirty-one percent of adults who’ve been treated within the last five years visit a chiropractor regularly – not only when they’re hurting.

  2. Those under age 50 are likelier to say a chiropractor would be their first choice for treating back or neck pain.

  3. Recent users averaged 11 visits in the past 12 months.

“This groundbreaking report shows Americans are embracing chiropractic as an alternative to other costly and invasive treatments,” said the not-for-profit Foundation for Chiropractic Progress’ Sherry McAllister, DC.

The savings inherent in using chiropractic rather than standard medical care were highlighted recently in a study conducted by the health-care giant Optum. After analyzing two years’ worth of its own insurance data, the company concluded that health-care consumers with back pain could have saved $1.3 billion over those two years if they had consulted chiropractors “at the outset,” or within 10 days of the onset of pain.

Beyond the monetary savings, Optum went on to suggest that “The quality of back pain treatment” would be “improved” if patients consulted chiropractors first.

Research shows that, at some point in their lives, 50 percent to 80 percent of the U.S. population experiences back pain. In fact, at any point in time, 15 percent to 37 percent of us are experiencing back pain.

Chiropractors are experts on the neuromusculoskeletal system and the spine. If your spine is misaligned – if one or more vertebrae have shifted out of position – that puts pressure on the delicate nerves in the neck and back. Those nerves are the brain’s way of communicating with your limbs and organs, and the misalignment can interrupt the communications system, much like a hose with a kink in it. Simply put, your body can’t function at its peak.

The solution is Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP), which can rehabilitate the spine and reshape it to strengthen your back and neck and restore your body’s health. Chiropractic BioPhysics is the most scientific, researched and results-oriented corrective chiropractic technique.

Chiropractic Spinal Hygiene Center, headed by Dr. Zev Mellman in Davie, Florida, is among only a handful of chiropractic centers specializing in Chiropractic BioPhysics. At Chiropractic Spinal Hygiene Center, we pinpoint the source of misalignment through digital X-rays or posture analysis software and devise a custom treatment plan to rehabilitate your spine.

If you live in the PDavie, Florida, area, perhaps it’s time you embraced the benefits of chiropractic care – along with 33.6 million other Americans. Contact us today for a complimentary chiropractic consultation to see if you qualify for corrective care.
